A meeting was held at the CASPIA Analytical Center in Baku with leading Hungarian experts on international affairs, including Senior Research Fellow at the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA) Sándor Seremet and Chief Advisor at the Ludovika Center for Turkic Studies Dávid Bíró.
During the discussion, the sides explored new opportunities for future cooperation between Azerbaijan and Hungary, with a particular focus on expanding political dialogue and practical collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
The meeting also covered recent political developments in Hungary, including the formation of the new government, and assessed their potential impact on Budapest’s foreign policy priorities and its engagement with the Turkic world.
A significant part of the exchange was devoted to the Middle Corridor, which participants described as a key strategic route for strengthening connectivity between Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. The growing importance of diversified transport and logistics chains in the current global geopolitical environment was also underlined.
In addition, the future of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was discussed. The sides noted its gradual transformation into a more structured platform for economic and strategic coordination, with increasing potential for institutionalized cooperation among member states.
The meeting concluded with a shared understanding that there is strong potential for developing joint initiatives and long-term cooperation projects between Hungary and the Turkic world in the coming period.
