NATO will deploy an additional Patriot air defense system in Adana to strengthen the country’s airspace security.

The announcement was made by the Ministry of National Defence of Turkey, which noted that the decision comes in addition to a Spanish Patriot system already stationed in the city.

According to the statement, the new system has been provided by NATO’s Allied Air Command — AIRCOM — based in Ramstein.

The ministry also recalled that missiles had previously been launched three times from Iran toward Turkish airspace, all of which were successfully intercepted by NATO air defense systems.

Ankara emphasized that it will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure national security and closely monitor developments in the region.
