The International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor, has officially confirmed Nurgul Zhakupova as its Secretary General. She had previously been serving in an acting capacity.
Her predecessor, Gaidar Abdikerimov, stepped down from the position in April 2025. In accordance with the Association’s charter, the Secretary General is appointed for a three-year term.
Established in 2017 and headquartered in Astana, the TITR Association is responsible for coordinating cooperation among all stakeholders involved in freight transportation along the Trans-Caspian corridor. Its core mission includes enhancing operational efficiency, facilitating administrative procedures, and fostering a competitive transport and logistics environment.
The Association’s governing board comprises senior representatives from key regional transport and infrastructure entities, including railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and Ukraine, as well as major maritime and port authorities.
The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route serves as a strategic Eurasian corridor linking China and Europe via Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. The Association plays a pivotal role in providing institutional support, streamlining cross-border processes, and improving connectivity for both member states and external partners engaged in the corridor.
