CASPIA Analytical Center hosted a meeting with representatives of the Turkish think tank TUMER, led by its Director Onur Beyhan. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for advancing dialogue between the analytical and expert communities of Türkiye and Azerbaijan, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

The discussions primarily focused on promoting sustainable expert engagement between the analytical centers of the two countries and strengthening cooperation among research institutions across OTS member states. It was emphasized that this format of collaboration is of particular importance for developing shared approaches to current regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The Turkish side especially noted that in Türkiye the historic victory of Azerbaijan in the Second Karabakh War is viewed with great respect and high appreciation, and is regarded as an important event not only for Azerbaijan, but for the wider Turkic world as a whole.

Representatives of TUMER expressed their intention to further strengthen ties with Azerbaijan’s analytical community, while also expanding cooperation with expert circles across the member states of the Organization of Turkic States. Among the priority areas identified were youth engagement, joint research initiatives, the organization of summer and winter schools, academic exchanges, and other educational programs.

Both sides underlined that the peoples of the OTS countries should know each other better, deepen mutual understanding, and jointly develop common approaches to many pressing issues. In this regard, the important role of analysts and experts was particularly highlighted, as they are expected to work together in strengthening the intellectual and humanitarian foundations of Turkic cooperation.
