Kazakhstan transported 04,000 tons of crude oil through the Port of Aktau for shipment via the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline during the first half of 2026, according to the latest monthly data published by KazTransOil.
The report indicates that 108,000 tons of Kazakh oil were shipped through the Port of Aktau into the BTC system in June 2026, representing a 13.6% decrease compared to the same month last year. Despite the monthly decline, the BTC route continues to play an important role in Kazakhstan's strategy to diversify its oil export routes.
Earlier, Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov stated that the country plans to export between 1.5 million and 2.2 million tons of crude oil via the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline in 2026, reflecting a significant increase compared to previous years.
For comparison, Kazakhstan exported 1.2 million tons of oil through the BTC pipeline in 2025.
The continued expansion of oil exports via the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline underscores Kazakhstan's broader strategy of diversifying export corridors while strengthening the role of the Trans-Caspian route as a reliable gateway for delivering Caspian energy resources to global markets.
