As part of ongoing modernization efforts at the Baku International Sea Trade Port, a significant infrastructure upgrade has been completed. The previously unused 7th berth has been technically enhanced and put into active operation for the first time.
The commissioning of the new berth is expected to substantially increase the port’s operational capacity. In particular, it will contribute to raising the port’s annual container handling capacity to 260,000 TEU. The upgraded facility will enable faster and more optimized cargo operations.
Experts note that this development will further strengthen the role of the Baku Port as a key logistics hub along the Middle Corridor. The enhanced infrastructure is expected to support the expansion of regional trade and boost the transit potential of the route.
